Restocking Fee A restocking fee is charged whenever the return is due to "Wrong item ordered," "Customer does not like the product," "Item no longer needed". or "Cancelled." Why restocking fee? We do not want to profit by selling low-quality products and charging high restocking fees. However, restocking fees become necessary in order for us to keep our costs and prices down. A majority of customers never return items. When items are, we have to sell them as used and below costs. If not paid by those who returned them, the additional costs had to be "shared" by others, which we believe isn't fair We are unable to sell these products as "new" once they have been returned even though there may be absolutely nothing wrong with the product/item. The product/item are no longer in new condition or were returned after our defined return terms or any of the reasons above and cannot be sold as such. When items such as these are returned, we have to sell them as used and below our cost. If not paid by those who returned the product/item, the additional costs would have to be made up by increasing our price on our new product/item This would mean other customers would pay for these customers returns, which is not fair and hurts our business overall by having to increase our prices. The only fair way to handle returns is to have the person/company returning the merchandise pay for the wages and loss in revenue incurred by the return. WHY A RESTOCKING FEE Item must be return to stock Entered back into our database but as used Order processing, must be reverted Bookkeeping Shipping departments May need cleaning New documentation New box. Tape New packing material. Labor to check product for damages and return it to right department Discount given to next customer to buy a used product. THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING
